For external use on the face and neck only
Lumyra Lab products are formulated exclusively for topical application to the skin of the face and neck, or as specifically stated on the individual product packaging.
They are not formulated, tested, evaluated or intended for any other use. In particular, they must never be applied to:
- Genital, vulvar, vaginal, perineal or anal areas, whether external or internal
- Nipples, areolae, or the breast in a person who is breastfeeding
- Inside the mouth, nose or ears
- The eyes or the inner eyelid margin
- Broken skin, open wounds, active infection, or severe sunburn
- Skin immediately after waxing, shaving, laser, microneedling, chemical peels or any cosmetic procedure
These products are not for oral ingestion. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Why intimate areas are specifically excluded
The skin of the genital, vulvar, perineal and anal regions differs from facial skin in ways that make cosmetic facial products unsafe there. Mucosal and semi-mucosal tissue is thinner, far more permeable, lacks the protective stratum corneum of facial skin, and maintains a different natural pH. Ingredients that are well tolerated on the face, including exfoliating acids, retinoids, vitamin C at cosmetic strength, and preservatives common to all skincare, can cause chemical burns, ulceration, severe inflammation, scarring, and disruption of the natural microbial balance when applied to these tissues.
No Lumyra Lab product has been formulated, tested or evaluated for such use, and no Lumyra Lab product should ever be used for vaginal tightening, intimate lightening, intimate exfoliation, or any similar purpose. Products marketed for these purposes are a separate regulatory category and are formulated differently. If you are seeking care for an intimate-area concern, consult a physician or gynecologist. Do not use facial skincare.
Additional restrictions
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: retinoids (including 06 Retinol) are not for use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Consult your physician before using any active skincare during pregnancy.
- Children: these products are formulated for adult skin and are not intended for use on children.
- Prescription treatments: if you use prescription topical or oral retinoids, or are under dermatological treatment, consult your prescriber before adding any product.
- Sun sensitivity: exfoliating acids and retinoids increase sensitivity to sunlight. Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen is required, not optional, while using them.
Patch testing
We strongly recommend a patch test before first use of any new product. Apply a small amount to the inner forearm, leave for 24 to 48 hours, and do not proceed to facial use if any redness, itching, burning or swelling develops. Patch testing is particularly important for products containing exfoliating acids (03 Glow Serum) or retinoids (06 Retinol).
If a reaction occurs
Discontinue use immediately, rinse the area with cool water, and do not apply other active products to the affected skin. Seek medical attention promptly if you experience blistering, swelling, difficulty breathing, or a burn-like reaction. If the product has been swallowed, or has contacted the eyes or an intimate area, seek medical advice without delay.
Please also report the reaction to us at hello@lumyralab.com so we can record it as required under applicable cosmetic safety regulations.
